FOOD REVIEW & OUTFIT: Saturday Brunch at littleSpoon Eatery

For this week’s brunch, I visited littleSpoon Eatery in Charlotte, North Carolina. littleSpoon is located on Selwyn Ave. in the Myers Park area of Charlotte. They offer brunch Tuesday through Sunday from 8 AM - 3 PM.

My Order:

  • Limosa (champagne, limoncello, mixed berries)

  • Hashed (diced potato, onion, bell pepper, ground chicken sausage, sunny egg)

    • Modifications: I ordered it without bell pepper.

  • Tots (tater tots with spicy sauce)

Review:

I had a great brunch at littleSpoon! The restaurant is located inside a building with a lot of other shops and offices. There was an attached underground parking garage with free parking. The restaurant itself was on the smaller side, there was a long bar with seating and a few individual tables inside. littleSpoon also has outside seating.

The appearance of the inside of the restaurant was rustic with revealed industrial ceilings, wood details, and large windows. Due to Covid-19 safety protocols, the staff was wearing masks and the tables were spaced out for social distancing, in addition to the outdoor seating. The menu was accessible on my phone through a QR code.

I ordered my meal at the front and the seating was seat yourself. The service was good, no complaints there. The food came out very quickly and warm. The “Hashed” was great. It had a slight hint of spice which I enjoyed and the diced potatoes were a mix of white potato and sweet potato. The spicy sauce that came with the tater tots was excellent. If they sold it by the bottle, I would buy it! My drink was good but interesting. It was a combination of flavors that I was not used to and left a slightly bitter aftertaste in my mouth.

I also noted that the menu was vegan/vegetarian friendly. There were vegan options such as Avocado Toast, Porridge (which sounded yummy), and a few salad options. littleSpoon also had red meat alternatives. They offered dishes with chicken sausage or turkey, as well as having the traditional bacon option. Kudos to them about that.

B.I.T.S. Rating:

Overall, I would give littleSpoon Eatery 4 out of 5 stars. The food was great and came out quickly. I was a huge fan of the spicy sauce for the tater tots and they also had unique drink options.

What I Wore:

For this look, I paired a leopard print A-line dress with black espadrille sandals and a simple black handbag with gold detailing. I love the way browns and tans look on my skin tone. Also, summer is the perfect time for airy, off-the-shoulder dresses that you can just throw on and go. Let me know your thoughts on the look!
