The Grand on Main: Columbia, SC

Hey foodies! Happy Sunday! It’s been a while since I posted a brunch review but I’m back! 💛

For today’s brunch review, I am reviewing The Grand on Main located in Columbia, South Carolina. The Grand on Main is in the heart of downtown Columbia. It is also the home of a bowling alley and arcade so you can do way more than just eat! They serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM - 2 PM.

My Order:

  • Mimosa Flight (champagne with strawberry basil, blackberry spice and sage, blueberry lavender, and peach mint)

  • Small Caesar Salad (crisp romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, croutons, Caesar dressing)

  • Southwest Loaded Fries (waffle fries, cheddar jack cheese, bacon, pico de gallo, chipotle sour cream, spicy chicken)

    • Modifications: no bacon

  • Chicken and Biscuit Breakfast (lightly crisped chicken breast, cheddar herb biscuits, country gravy, two eggs over easy)

Chicken and Biscuit Breakfast

Review:

I loved my experience at The Grand on Main! I have been there before in the past but never for brunch and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with large booth tables, high ceilings and a full bar. There is a bowling alley and barcade (bar + arcade) towards the back.

It was Memorial Day weekend, so my two best friends from college were in town and they enjoyed it as well. We made a reservation so there was no wait time. Our waitress was very nice and funny. She had great energy and was happy to tell us the most popular things on the menu.

We ordered the Southwest Loaded Fries for the table. I also ordered the Chicken and Biscuit Breakfast and a small Caesar salad. The food came out fairly quick and it was very good. My favorite part of my meal was the biscuits and gravy that came with the chicken. The biscuits were moist and had a great flavor.

All the food came out in large portions so I understand why it is “grand.” We definitely had boxes to take home.

I also ordered the Mimosa flight and it will definitely give you a nice buzz. I appreciate the flavor combinations of each mimosa. My favorite was the strawberry basil, but the blueberry lavender was a close second!

If you are looking for a brunch spot in the downtown Columbia area, I recommend trying The Grand on Main!
