Haberdish: Charlotte, NC

Saturday Brunch at Haberdish

For this week’s brunch, I visited Haberdish in Charlotte, North Carolina. Haberdish is located in the heart of the popular North Davidson (NoDa) neighborhood. They are open everyday, except Monday, and their hours vary. On Saturdays, Haberdish is open from 11:30 AM - 11 PM.

My Order:

  • Hibiscus Honey Punch (vodka, pimm’s #1, krupnikas, lemon, strawberry and hibiscus syrup, soda)

  • Appetizers:

    • Smoked Deviled Eggs (smoked whites, chives, paprika)

    • Smokey Boiled Peanuts (in the shell)

  • Fried Chicken Tenders & Waffle (with a side of Smokey Mac & Cheese)

Review:

My first impression when walking into Haberdish was that it looks like my favorite type of brunch spot! I love a place with a rustic aesthetic and lots of wooden details. There is indoor seating and both covered and uncovered outdoor seating. It is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. They also have a great music selection.

It was my first time visiting the NoDa neighborhood and I think I found my new favorite area in Charlotte. There are lots of small shops and people of all backgrounds were walking around enjoying their Saturday afternoon. Haberdish is also across the street from a very good popsicle bar called PopBar. Overall, a great place to have brunch.

Our waiter was nice and explained the menu to us. The menu is a la carte meaning that everything is ordered separately and you can add a waffle to anything! They also have a very large cocktail menu with lots of different options of both flavor and size. My drink was great for someone who likes sweet tea. Unfortunately, I do not but that is no fault of the restaurant.

I chose to order two fried chicken tenders and add a waffle. I also ordered the mac and cheese. The food came out quickly and the waffle was very good. The best part of the meal was the appetizers! The Smoked Deviled Eggs were great, and as a first timer to Smokey Boiled Peanuts, I was pleasantly surprised.

I also noted that Haberdish provides hot towels to clean your hands after you eat, which is something that I haven’t seen at any other brunch place so far. Definitely a plus!

B.I.T.S. Rating:

I would give Haberdish 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed the vibes and the appetizers. I wish I would have gotten a different drink, but now I know for next time. If you are in the Charlotte area, check out Haberdish for brunch!

What I Wore:

Unfortunately, there is no new look this week. I was wearing a long-sleeve, striped, yellow dress and had all intentions of taking a picture in it but…I got a chocolate popsicle from PopBar after brunch and spilled it on the dress. 😩

I was so upset about it. It was the perfect transition dress from summer to fall. I promise I will not make this a habit! See you next week!

Thank you for stopping by this week’s blog post! I hope you will come back for more. Always remember to be kind.
